Vintage Treks provides transportation, expert tour guide, winery or vineyard tour, wine tasting, and lunch or dinner at one of the wineries on every tour.

Sample Tours

Option FSAB:  Vineyard tour/discussion and wine tasting at Flint Hill Vineyards in East Bend (a landmark "century farm" designation), lunch, wine tasting, and vineyard discussion/tour at Shadow Springs Vineyards in Hamptonville (a relaxing and picturesque facility), shopping at the local Amish Country Store, and winery tour and wine tasting at Buck Shoals Vineyards in Hamptonville (this winery tour is second to none and includes a tour of their new distillery for brandy making and other spirits, unique in NC).

Option EGBM:  Homemade pizza lunch in their owner-built brick oven, winery tour, vineyard discussion, and wine tasting at Elkin Creek Vineyards in Elkin (a rustic place bursting with originality), wine tasting, and winery tour at Grassy Creek Vineyards in Elkin (learn the history surrounding this location), wine tasting at Brushy Mountain Winery in downtown Elkin (wine names with a real flare), and a winery tour and wine tasting McRitchie Winery & Ciderworks in Thurmond (small scale, big tastes).

Option RAR:  Winery tour and lunch at RagApple Lassie Vineyards and Winery in Booneville (one of our most experienced wine-makers, much history and heritage), wine tasting at Allison Oaks Vineyards in Yadkinville (a lovely tasting room atmosphere in downtown Yadkinville), and vineyard tour/discussion, winery tour and wine tasting at RayLen Vineyards and Winery in Mocksville (great views, great wines, educational winery tour, wine-maker voted "best in NC" by his peers).

Option ASG:  Wine tasting, winery tour and lunch at Autumn Creek Vineyards and Winery in Mayodan (a relaxing lodge setting with tasty wines), winery tour and wine tasting at Stonefield Cellars Winery in Stokesdale (so many wines to choose from), wine tasting and art at Germanton Winery in Germanton (one of our oldest NC wine producers with a beautiful art gallery to wonder through, purchase if you like).

Option RRA:  Vineyard discussion and winery tour, with a wine tasting at Raffaldini Vineyards in Ronda ("Chianti in the Carolinas", Italian style villa/tasting room, best scenic views in the Yadkin Valley), winery tour, wine tasting, and lunch at RagApple Lassie Vineyards and Winery in Booneville (one of our most experienced wine-makers, a unique Chardonnay), wine tasting at Allison Oaks in Yadkinville (a charming tasting room in downtown Yadkinville, relax, converse over a glass of wine).
Option CWW:  Wine tasting, winery tour at Childress Vineyards and Winery in Lexington (once a dream of NASCAR legend Richard Childress become a reality, beautiful facility in every detail), wine tasting, winery tour and lunch at Weathervane Winery in Welcome (quaint and cozy, relaxing tasting room, unique wine style), and winery tour and wine tasting at Westbend Vineyards in Lewisville (the oldest "vinifera" vines in the Yadkin Valley, pioneers in the industry, a wine-maker with a flare for taste).

Option SHRS:  Wine tasting and lunch at Stony Knoll Vineyards, wine tasting at Hutton Vineyards in Dobson, winery tour and wine tasting at RagApple Lassie Vineyards and Winery, and wine tasting at Sanders Ridge Vineyard and Winery  in Boonville

Option RJW: Our "Southern Yadkin Valley AVA Route Tour" includes an in-depth winery tour, and wine tasting at RayLen Vineyards in Mocksville (great wines, great views, great tour). Next we will enjoy a vineyard tour and wine tasting of Rhone style wines with lunch at Junius Lindsay Vineyard in Lexington (wonderful outside tasting area), then a winery tour along with comprehensive wine tasting at Weathervane Winery in Welcome (unique wines and winery process).  There should also be enough time for a quick stop at "The Candy Factory" in Lexington, sure to bring out the child in you.

Option UDS: One of our "southern route" tours includes a winery and Vineyard tour, wine tasting and lunch at Uwharrie Vineyards & Winery in Albermarle (beautiful facility with many amenities), wine tasting, vineyard discussion, and winery tour at Dennis Vineyards in Albermarle (discover a wealth of health benefits from Muscadines, dry, semi-dry, and sweet), a vineyard discussion and wine tasting at Stony Mountain Vineyards in Albermarle (panoramic views of the Uwharrie Mountains).

Option DOG: Vineyards tour/discussion, wine tasting and lunch at Daveste Vineyards in Troutman (enjoy the rustic timber-frame tasting room and art gallery), winery tour, vineyard discussion and wine tasting at Old Stone Vineyard & Winery in Salisbury (enjoy both European and native varieties), wine tasting at Garden Gate Vineyards in Mockville (enjoy their unique and refreshing fruit and native grape wines, and shop their custom made ceramic art).

Option OWR: Vineyard discussion, winery tour, wine tasting and lunch at Owl's Eye Vineyard & Winery in Shelby (beautiful facilities, good wine), winery and vineyard discussion/tour, wine tasting at Woodmill Winery in Vale (enjoy the natural beauty, tranquility, and country-side charm), Vineyard discussion and wine tasting at Raintree Cellars in Connley Springs (many wines at affordable prices).

Option GBW: With stops in two AVA's, our first is at Grassy Creek Vineyards & Winery in Elkin for a winery tour, vineyard discussion, wine tasting and lunch (history abounds here, lunch in the old Hanes Family Lodge), enjoy a winery and distillery tour, vineyard discussion and wine tasting at Buck Shoals Vineyards & Winery in Hamptonville (great wines with an Italian influence, a winery tour second to none in the Yadkin Valley), a vineyard tour and wine tasting at Westbend Vineyards & Winery in Lewisville (known as the "Pioneers of the Yadkin Valley" in growing "vinifera" grapes and making wine).

Option FRW: We start at Flint Hill Vineyards in East Bend for a vineyard discussion/tour, a wine tasting, and lunch (lunch in their "Century Kitchen" a "Century Farmhouse" designation), a winery tour, vineyard discussion and wine tasting at RayLen Vineyards & Winery in Mocksville (great wines, great vineyard views, great winery tour), winery tour and wine tasting at Weathervane Winery in Welcome (many unique and "fun" wines with an alternative approach to wine making).

Option FWR: We start at Flint Hill Vineyards in East Bend for a vineyard tour with Vineyard Manager and owner Brenda Daub, and wine tasting.  Next we travel to Westbend Vineyards and Winery in Lewisville for a vineyard and winery tour, wine tasting, and lunch under the pavillion.  Our last stop is RayLen Vineyards and Winery in Mocksville for a winery tour and wine tasting.  A great winery tour awaits.  RayLen's winemaker was voted "wine maker of the year".

Option RPRH: Our first stop is Round Peak Vineyards in Mt. Airy for a vineyard and winery tour, a wine tasting, and a chance to enjoy the wonderful view of the mountain peaks from their crush pad.  Next stop is at RagApple Lassie Vineyards and Winery in Boonville.  Linda King, winemaker of 30 years and international wine judge will educate us with a winery tour, then we will enjoy a tasting of their fine wines, followed by lunch in the winery.  Last stop is Hutton Vineyards and Tasting Room just up the road from RagApple.  Hutton opened last year and boasts some terrific wines from grapes grown on their 45 acres of vines.

Option CHGEB: Our first stop is at Carolina Heritage Vineyards and Winery in Elkin for a taste of their wines made primarily from native American Grapes (Vitus Rhondifolia, and Vitus Lambrusca varieties) grown on their 35 acre farm.  Tour the facility and enjoy a little shopping for wines and other gift items.  Next stop is Grassy Creek Vineyards and Winery in Elkin for a winery tour and wine tasting.  There's a lot of history on this property, great stories.  Enjoy lunch on the property.  Next we jump over to Elkin Creek Vineyards and Winery also in Elkin for a vineyard discussion, winery tour, and wine tasting in this beautifully rustic piece of property.  On our way to our last wine stop we will pull on in to the parking lot at the old Elkin General Store.  Shop for goodies in this great old timey store.  Last stop is Brush Mountain Winery in downtown Elkin.  The Mayberry and Harris families will have us enjoy a taste of their semi-sweet wines with colorful names, one of which found its way onto the David Letterman Show.  If time permits we will take a short while to stroll downtown Main Street.  See you there.

Option RPSSS: Our first stop is Round Peak Vineyards & Winery in Mt. Airy, enjoy the picturesque vineyard with mountain-top views, a winery tour, tasting, and lunch on the crush pad or in the winery.  Next we move on to Stony Knoll Vineyards in Dobson, a beautiful "Century Farm" preserved for our pleasure for a short winery tour and wine tasting in their spacious tasting room with extra long tasting bar.  Before moving on to our last winery, let's take a quick stop at "Stroodles", an authentic German-style bakery just up the street from Stony Knoll, the wonderful smell of breads, cookies, and pastries will be irresistable.  Last stop is Sanders Ridge Vineyard & Winery in Boonville.  Enjoy this large country lodge atmosphere while we taste their wines then enjoy a short winery tour.

Option ONRPS:  Another tour option in the northern part of the Yadkin Valley AVA starts at Old North State winery in downtown Mt. Airy where the nostalgia abounds about Andy Griffith and Barney Fife.  We will do a wine tasting and take a little time to walk around main street for a little shopping.  Next we travel on to Shelton Vineyards & Winery in Dobson, a state-of-the-art facililty with beautiful property views.  Here we will enjoy a winery tour and wine tasting.  Take a few minutes to look around their large gift shop.  Our last stop is Cellar 4201 in East Bend for a vineyards discussion and a tasting of their great wines.

Option DLC4EB: For this tour we concentrate on the area known as East Bend, getting its name from the an eastern turn in the Yadkin River.  First stop is Divine Llama Vineyards, a relative newcomer to the scene.  We will learn about how they came to be, discuss their vineyard design, and enjoy a tasting of their wines.  Next stop is Cellar 4201 for a tour of their beautiful vines and a wine tasting.  Last stop is Flint Hill Vineyards for a vineyard discussion by owner and vineyard manager Brenda Daub, a taste of their delicious wines, and a chance to relax in a rocker on their front porch. Sounds good huh.
